Could go either way. A manager leaving can give players an edge, and we'll need that tonight if we're going to get a result. May work in our favour. I'm hoping so, so I'll go for a narrow 1-0 win.

It is likely that the players know EXACTLY what is, or isn't, going on. As professionals, they are paid to get on with their jobs, regardless of rumours and speculation. At least, that's what some posters implied when I posted this on another thread:

"If I was Sam, and had read the crap that some on here wrote about him not being good enough for us before a ball was kicked, and saw how his commitment to us is now being questioned by the same individuals, I'd snatch another club's hand off now if it furthered my career prospects.

You can bet that there are players and club employees reading RP. It is destabilising and demotivating material. Behave!"
