Conference to league 1 is a step up, and Ricketts will see that. Think it’s a step too far for him, be surprised if he lasts the season.

I'm not convinced about the step up argument, the reverse would suggest a mid table league 1 manager would find our league a walk in the park which I don't think is correct. I struggle to see Shrewsbury getting much higher, but if he does well then championship clubs could come calling.

Sam wasn't ars*d about going, board said he could. Kick in the balls for him. Didn't even put up a fight FFS.

Didn't get the backing he wanted in the summer either and wasn't sounding good for Jan, up until out cup run. Many players slipped through his fingers at the last minute hence his odd statements.

I am at a loss to understand what all the furore is about when this type of situation occurs. Surely no one believes that the 'beautiful game' has any connection whatsoever to sport in this day and age.

Players are paid extortionate money, cheating is applauded and encouraged, (i.e. statements like. " His team mates won't be happy, he should have fallen over in the box", get a player sent off by whatever means necessary, encourage the referee to give a red or yellow card, the ridiculous assumption that there is 'financial fair play'. Given the above how do they have the temerity to wear the emblem of a 'Respect' on the shirt.

In the present circumstances I am not persuaded that blame should be attached either to the Club or Mr Ricketts. The rules leave very little choice and who in their right mind would not wish to advance themselves given the opportunity in profession that has little or no security.
