No really. Grant is here until January. It gave Ricketts a chance to have a look at him. I wouldn't be surprised if he ended up at the slops

I doubt Ricketts had much/any knowledge of lower league players or of the National League, whereas Barrow has it coming out of his ears. Why do you think Barrow was hired?

I speak to 4 of the current players on a regular basis and they signed because of Ricketts

Barrow wanted to sign the trialist we had pre season but Ricketts said no, he also wanted to sign a defender from Fylde but Ricketts went for Lawlor

As regards to the new manager, as good as Askey did last season, he is probably the least charismatic and inspiring manager I've ever heard speak. Really can't see him coming in and motivating the team. It's got to be all out for Ferguson for me with Barrow as his assistant.

The defender choose Chester instead because he would have been backup here, not a starter. And Lawlor signed after Manny's injury.

I'm not saying he didn't do anything - coaching, management, tactics etc. He seemed to be doing a good job too. But I am pretty sure most player recruitment came from Barrow, not him.
