We have PLENTY of money in the bank, trust and forward accounting.

It's evident it's being tucked away and not released though. I wonder if this has played a part in Sams decision. Perhaps he had a request for funds in Jan or for higher than current wages and has been told he's not allowed to operate outside the current business plan....

Was going to say the same thing. I'd rather have big den here. Personally I'm hoping Barrow will stay and take over till at least the end of the season.

Good, we need to be sensible. Would fans be happy if we chucked every penny at it and lost to Salford in the playoff final with orient winning the league and next season we were battling relegation as we had no money at all?

Some would, they would have more to moan about and for some casuals a reason to not attend games. The club is being run many times better than ever in my 50 years of supporting the reds. I think the vast majority of fans feel the same, hence why our attendances are many times better than in our barren FL years

Would certainly be a crowd favourite but i have no knowledge of his managerial qualities.
I hope not as he would be a token manager chosen because he has prior links to club which would end in disaster. we need experience of getting us out of this league so it has to be Askey who I hope is appointed next week as we don't want a long drawn out period following Kellogs HR processes yet again.

Unfortunately, without throwing a little bit extra in the pot, we're probably looking at a one in 10/15 year Macclesfield type promotion. Without FFP, this is generally a league that is bought and the playoffs are a lottery.

I'm not asking us to operate at risk, but if we've come across windfall payments like Taylor / Ward / FA Cup / TV money and we're operating considerably above the 3700 break even attendance figure, the manager should be given a significant amount of this extra money to get us out of this hell hole to be spent as he sees fit.

Business plans can be subject to change, I suggest ours needs a serious review or we'll continue to operate a savings account in non league for many years to come.

I think it would be silly to speak to any anyone other than Askey. By only asking him he will feel like he's really wanted, and you never know we might get some LOYALTY in return. He won this league last year on a budget it has to be him.
