He’s a poncy Southern plum who is languishing in midtable this season because his big budget has been slashed.

I’d go Tim Flowers too. I think he qualified in the FAW system. He would also bring in Creighton as his assistant I’d guess. Please don’t let Darlo be part of the selection process he has too many bias for me. He was the one who championed Keates and Sam.

I see your point but is that not a good thing, both of those managers improved us. Darlington can’t control their integrity should a L1 job become available.

I agree with this. Disappointing how both tenures ended but I have no issue with either Keates or Ricketts in terms of how they went about rebuilding the squad. There are a lot of reasons to think that a continuity of approach (the FAW model) would be a better route than just completely changing everything again.

Darlingtons job is essentially to promote the FAW coaching process. Like with Keates and SR, he'll be doing all he can to push candidates that have come through the FAW coaching set up. Each placed coach / manager, reflects well on him and the FAW.

Let's not forget here, he's one of these new breed of textbook coaches, he has NO experience of playing football, even at a local amateur level. I'm not confortable with somone with such a limited background having such a big say in the recruitment of our most important position.

I'd go as far as saying he has a conflict of interest, where else would you be employed in the recruitment process for your own boss?!

Hopefully the new manager will actually sign a striker.

Askey for me. A safe pair of hands and knows the division and has been successful.
