Why would Hurst take a job with us when he could walk into a league 2 club in a division with 4 promotion play offs.

Askey old assistant, Steve Watson, seems to be doing a good job with Gateshead, although whether or not he wants to move away from the North East again is a factor, although obviously he lived towards this way once upon a time. I can see him going to Hartlepool.
As key is fine by me but only with GB as his assistant and Darlington if he doesn't want them he doesn't get job.

I can't say why but I have reservations about Askey.
The more I hear it, the more I am liking Dennis Lawrence with Barrow.
Crazy to appoint another rookie but the last two worked out fine and I'm sure Big Den has lots of contacts.

Don’t think GB and Dennis worked together at Wigan , however they both have a mutual friend in Roberto Martinez so there’s a link there already .

I'd like to see DL take charge to be honest.

Barrow is essential big fan of his but still think needs a young manager with the modern side of the game. Rickets and barrow were or are good mix

1st time around... wasn't he up against Mills ? who at the time was the majority of fanbase fave to take the reigns.

2nd time around he was up against Keates... again another fan and club fave.

so wasnt as if he was turned down.. simply wasnt 1st choice. and the 1st choices we had at the time....we both got.

one thing for certain.. IF ricketty rat goes.. we need to install a new manager ASAP so he can take a look at the squad and has a better understanding of where "he" wants to strengthen the squad
