This is a very difficult time for the board and clear heads and steady hands are required along with some proper understanding from the fanbase. From what I have seen and heard so far (and I am not sure what is fact or fiction) they are doing OK - I wish them all the luck in the world to continue to satisfactorily conclude a situation they did not initiate.
Oh dear. The Wilkin mistakes all over again.

GB is here so any new appointment works with him.
Thats the terms.

So ,to give you an example, Darren Ferguson agrees to join but only if I have my own staff - we refuse ?

Yes because GB is currently employed by us as assistant.

Exactly right.

The alternative is sack (and pay off) all of our staff. Costly and risky, given we have a decent set up at the moment.

Also, Ferguson aint gonna come.

From what I hear we can't afford him.

Ah fair enough. As Dixie discussed above, I seriously doubt we can afford him. Thats even IF he wanted to drop this low, and not have millions to blow.

Agree. This is where we as WAFC show our loyalty and our class in retaining somone that has currently helped the team into 4th place.
What message would it send if we binned off GB and JJ after all this.

As I said we made a huge mistake under Wilkin and he didn't even have any backroom staff to bring with him. We ended up with Mills the ladder when it was obvious (to me anyway) that DK should have been given a part in the backroom and the club should have said it was part of the deal.

Costly mistake given Mill2sGate.

Back to Askey. The thing about him is that his recruitment record stands alongside anyone you can name. His success at Macclesfield was down to his sharp-eyed recruitment. Whatever beef the Shrews had with him they can't knock the players he brought in. I think it was more of a fan issue. Get on the wrong side of those cretins and you are in big trouble. He's worth a punt on my opinion. However, if we're looking for honesty, integrity and loyalty in our next manager, my labrador /Dalmatian cross would be a good fit.
