If a bus window has been smashed when parked in an official spot then we need to ask questions of what the dozens of police were doing. Those human chains across the street were ridiculous and just posturing.

Two Newport buses pulled over up just off the bypass, on the rhostyllen slipway, with a police car with its lights on , around 10.20.

Anything to do with this?

Not done when parked up. The bus was on the move after the match. As stated earlier, women and children on the coach and not an accident. One moron can give a club a bad name.

Absolute stupidity and potentialy life threatening.

Hope they catch them and get them in court.

It's nothing new..Half brick smashed through the window just in front of me, on the train coming out of Burnley, after the cup tie in the 70s..
We were also stoned in a (I think) Hanmers) coach at Crewe years ago...But this time ,the coach driver stopped, and a few gave chase, got the culprit and took him to the Police Station..

That sounds very like an incident after a match at Port Vale in the early 60s

It's a disgraceful and indiscriminate act which could cause major injury to a fellow football fan regardless of who they support.

Yet again an individual or small group cast a dark shadow over our great Club.

Re: Newport bus damage

It sounds like a terrible throw back to the 70’s. I remember coming away from a Swindon away game, the cops told us to get on our knees as their idiots sometimes threw bricks. Our coach missed out but others didn’t. Misguided idiots, but they must be found and punished.

Horrible thing to do, what if it was young Gypsies throwing stones? If so it wouldn't have been necessarily "Newport targeted" as those people target anyone or anything that isn't one of their own.

Wonder if all the coaches were under police escort when this happened - often happens all over the country but at some point the escort would have stopped and turned back - you would think that once the coaches got up to the A483 roundabout they would be away from potential harm and complete their departure under their own steam.

Could have happened as the coaches passed under A483 bridges perhaps ?

Regardless - it has done nothing to increase the safety of our supporters taking coach travel to the replay - reprisals can be expected.

Moronic behaviour - could have caused something far more serious than damage to a window.

I remember Port Vale away in the early 2000's and our coach was getting pelted. Not nice, especially since you get that trapped feeling. So easily a piece of broken glass could fly into an innocent person's eye/s. Unfortunately, I doubt those involved give a rats ass.

Absolutely they are I just think if you having an excessively large Police presence it should function. Instead of human chains of coppers, keep away fans back and escort them to coaches, cars, trains etc if required. Idea of dozens of police, vans and a helicopter yet someone gets away with bricking a bus is very poor organisation.

If it happened on the by pass heading towards Rhostyllen it may have nothing to do with Wrexham fans, My vehicle got hit a couple of weeks ago travelling home lucky for me no side windows just a dent in the bodywork.

If it was at the ground then no excuse it reflects badly on us as a club.

Could it have happened whilst going past the gypsy site as there have been lots of similar incidents recently. May not of been football related?

I live down here in Caerphilly and your comments are very wrong. Most Newport fans are decent football supporters like most of ours. Unfortunately both clubs have idiots who spoil thing for the rest of us. I'm sure agreeing with this behavior won't help the safety of our fans at Rodney Parade next week.

I don't get why we should like everyone. You judge on your own experience.
Most fans keep themselves to themselves, so don't get noticed. I've never noticed anything other than a hostile reception at Newport, it's a bit reminiscent of Cardiff and Swansea 30 years ago.

I’m glad no one was hurt but must agree any Newport supporters I have come across are pretty much scum. In Dublin watching Wales myself and a mate surrounded by 12 brave Newport but they soon did one when four Cardiff fans came to our aid, funny how when it was 12 v 6 they never fancied the odds no more. Plus I never forget some of them pointing and laughing at crying children at our loss at Wembley, scum. I know they won’t all be the same but that’s my only experiences of them so can only comment on what I have seen.

Whoever did this acted irresponsibly, and jeopardised life and limb.

Hope the police find the culprit(s) and charge them accordingly.

Regardless what some folk think of some Newport fans, there is no justification for such reckless and dangerous acts.
