Re: Attendance???
Game was broadcast live on TalkSport 2 with Adam Virgo co commentating. Was impressed by how many youngsters were at the game & not just the die hards who generally follow a team after dropping into non-league.
Also said how badly we need a goal scorer . . . . |
Re: Attendance???
RL. The issue is were outside the league money and until we get back were behind the bankrolled NL teams inc. the likes of Solihull etc.

Re: Attendance???
I think the 350 Newport tickets are within a roofed stand - the additional surplus 600 if required are on open terracing. Information was blurted out by the match day presenters pre match / half time.
Somehow get the feeling that the 350 will be enough. Some interesting attendance figures from the FA Cup second round ties this weekend. For a National League team we are in reality on a par with many League 1 clubs. Yet more evidence that given our resources and fanbase we really should be higher in the pyramid - surely with more paying supporters generating more food, drink, merchandise and sponsorship we should be able to take the next step up. The number of fans a club has doesn’t guarantee success but it’s got to be a significant factor, especially the lower down the leagues the club is. In order of home gates of most clubs involved in the cup this weekend. Lincoln City - 6,438 Plymouth Argyle - 5,984 Wrexham - 5,295 Tranmere Rovers - 4,701 Chesterfield - 4,537 Peterborough United - 3,750 Swindon Town - 3,654 Charlton Athletic - 3,249 Walsall - 3,140 Barnet - 2,826 Rochdale - 2,555 Source : BBC website
Shrewsbury - 3,427 Source their forum |
