Attendance???
Just as a side from all the Ricketts stuff.....
Did I hear that right?? 5200?? Absolute blx!! |
Re: Attendance???
Last night the total was 5,295 with 420 from Newport.
Last week v Orient the total was 6,428 with 603 from Orient. The Tech End seemed very noisy - many moved over to the nearest block of seats to the Newport fans - Mold Road looked pretty full except for the end blocks either side of the stand BUT if anything I thought the Yale looked quite spare compared to normal - especially the Paddock at the town end. You also have the ST holders to consider - ones that get counted in the figures for a league match even if they are not in physical attendance. That would not have been relevant last night. Then, having watched the BT Sport recording of the match it does give you an overview of the whole stadium - lots of big spaces but I myself thought before the attendance was announced that it was higher than what was said. |
Re: Attendance???
I can't see why they'd "up" the official number for this game seeing as the opposition got half the gate money.

I think the point was the attendance was higher than announced. |

Oops!!! |
Re: Attendance???
It looked at least 6k to me. Tech end upper was pretty full and the Mrs was similar
|
Re: Attendance???
lots of empty seats in the MRS centre section compared to last week
|
Re: Attendance???
Bloody hell if over 5k that is one hell of a gate sat night, some fker put some money in this club please
|
Re: Attendance???
I said 5,400 at KO.
Yale was a bit sparse and also take iff ST holders normally counted at league games. I think 5,200 was a great attendance. |
Re: Attendance???
Ok, interesting, I was in the Yale, and both Tech end and Mold Rd. looked packed, quite hard for me to judge Yale I guess, but seemed more than Orient to me
|
Re: Attendance???
Why question the attendance figure?
Club would be in breach of FA rules if they were to provide false attendance figures. |
Why question the attendance figure?
Club would be in breach of FA rules if they were to provide false attendance figures.
Fans of all clubs question attendance, why should we be different. The most probable explanation is the inclusion of, no show ST holders inclusion in league game figures distorting the appearance of the crowd. |

You might want to have a word with her about that. |

Re: Attendance???
Must admit was surprised at the 5200 announcement, looked much closer to 6k
|
Re: Attendance???
paddock was empty as all the alkies moved due to the cent being shut
|
Re: Attendance???
Was Mr. Rhodes back counting the gate receipts :-)

Yes I know, just because I used the word inclusion twice does not mean I'm a complete idiot. |
Re: Attendance???
If the figures looked deflated I guess Newport would have something to say about that.

A bit like the Harrogate game in the last round,to be honest the last few years under the trust the attendances look about right not like the days under pryce, hamilton dickens etc. |

FFS, when we see a crowd of 4500 announced as 5000 it distorts the view we get at a cup game where there are fewer no shows. Does my inclusion of an extra inclusion really make it thet illegible? |

Yes I went, I didnt count them, why do you ask? |
Re: Attendance???
I think the 350 Newport tickets are within a roofed stand - the additional surplus 600 if required are on open terracing. Information was blurted out by the match day presenters pre match / half time.
Somehow get the feeling that the 350 will be enough. Some interesting attendance figures from the FA Cup second round ties this weekend. For a National League team we are in reality on a par with many League 1 clubs. Yet more evidence that given our resources and fanbase we really should be higher in the pyramid - surely with more paying supporters generating more food, drink, merchandise and sponsorship we should be able to take the next step up. The number of fans a club has doesn’t guarantee success but it’s got to be a significant factor, especially the lower down the leagues the club is. In order of home gates of most clubs involved in the cup this weekend. Lincoln City - 6,438 Plymouth Argyle - 5,984 Wrexham - 5,295 Tranmere Rovers - 4,701 Chesterfield - 4,537 Peterborough United - 3,750 Swindon Town - 3,654 Charlton Athletic - 3,249 Walsall - 3,140 Barnet - 2,826 Rochdale - 2,555 Source : BBC website |
Re: Attendance???
Game was broadcast live on TalkSport 2 with Adam Virgo co commentating. Was impressed by how many youngsters were at the game & not just the die hards who generally follow a team after dropping into non-league.
Also said how badly we need a goal scorer . . . . |
Re: Attendance???
RL. The issue is were outside the league money and until we get back were behind the bankrolled NL teams inc. the likes of Solihull etc.
