Not excuse, valid comments with himself, Matt Dolan, Scott Bennett and Robbie Wilmott all important mid-field players missing through injury, some of whom could be fit for the replay.

We were missing a manager through treachery, so it evens out!!

Massive incentive for Newport to, they must still be favourites to go through.

Yes i recall going to Filbert Street but without Googling can't remember much else but losing 2-1 does kind of ring a bell.

We played Leicester at home in midweek game around 79....They had some name and international players...Larry May, Steve Whitworth, Keith Weller, Steve Sims..
Could be wrong but thought it was 1-3 scoreline

We beat them at home in the mid 70s in the League Cup when they had the great Frank Worthington playing as I recall.

We played Leicester in 3 of our 4 seasons in the old 2nd Division back in the late 1970s early 1980s. 2 of the home games finished 0-0 and Leicester won the other one 1-0. The 3 away games finished 1-1, 1-0 Leicester and 2-0 Leicester. Our only league goal against them was from Mickey Thomas the night before he signed for Man Utd.
