Re: Barrow signs 2.5 year contract as Assistant Manager - no manager announcement
Just a guess but is this because they fear whoever becomes Manager will leave when they think they can do a snake like move and leave us in limbo , with knowing Barrow is here they can say Feck off .

Re: Barrow signs 2.5 year contract as Assistant Manager - no manager announcement
This is a major statement by the Board. Any new manager will have to work with Graham which I think is good news. As others suggest it may mean we already know who the new man will be - and he is happy with his appointment - but can't say yet. I think it will probably rule out some of the more experienced names being touted for the job.

Re: Barrow signs 2.5 year contract as Assistant Manager - no manager announcement
Brilliant news one thing is certain he won't walk if a club from a league one made him an offer he is a loyal man and loves it here.
So whoever the new boss is going to be knows the score it's his assistant which leads me to think it's going to be another young manager for him to mentor. Or is the rumours about Challinor at Fylde true? Both have worked together recently. Posted via mobile theme Last edited by John Neals Dynasty; 6th December 2018 at 09.20:02.. |

Re: Barrow signs 2.5 year contract as Assistant Manager - no manager announcement
Suggests to me it will be another 'up and coming' manager as I'd imagine an experienced manager would be more inclined to demand to bring in their own staff. I think it's a sensible move for the sake of stability, having seen two managers leave in quick succession, by offering a longer term contract to a vastly experienced assistant, we're less likely to suffer a collapse when a manager leaves.
At Barrow's age and with his firm statement about staying put, he's clearly not going anywhere, which gives us some much needed stablity.

Re: Barrow signs 2.5 year contract as Assistant Manager - no manager announcement
Hope this means there's someone already lined up willing to work with him, otherwise it seems a bit odd. I'm not sure we should be imposing an assistant on the new manager.
