Right now, Dennis Lawrence has coaching qualifications plus three years as Assistant Coach at Wigan, three years as First Team Development Coach at Everton, and one year as Manager of the T&T national team under his belt.

If the first two were so successful that they were tapped up by teams two leagues above within months, why is it so crazy to think that the vastly more experienced Lawrence might be a success?
Most logical post for me.

Add in; Big Den has that local connection and is a safe bet that he can work well with GB, then it all makes sense.

If this is true, then it appears by the swiftness of action; to be something the board have been planning as a contingency anyway.

The important thing, whoever comes in, finds the club in very good position, but with a huge job on their hands to stay in the running for automatic promotion. Our results have dipped since the SDR saga has kicked off but fair play to the players, performances have been good and hopefully, GB has them fully focussed on Saturday.

“The TTFA wishes to state that it has no intentions of allowing its current employee, Mr Lawrence, to engage in discussions with the club regarding the possibilities of a move and a subsequent step down from his position as Head Coach of the Men’s Senior National Team.

Its most likely a stance to show that they won't be a pushover if we did want Lawrence. It could also mean they want more compensation though with Lawrences contract expiring soon I can't see there being an issue if Lawrence is to take over.

He runs down his contract and walks into one here.

Or T & T accept some compensation and we get him sooner.

Barrow having a contract extension means we have him in the interim, so if Lawrence does have to wait we have a manager who can fill in with no problems.

That's all assuming it is Lawrence who is coming in of course....

yep we have discussed this over last 24 hours or so, the statement doesnt mean too much as his contract runs out next month.

Although if you were part of the TTFA i could understand the embarrassament losing your manger to a 5th tier football club in the English leagues!!!!

Thought I'd read somewhere that DL hadn't been paid by the T&T FA (along with others) therefore they have effectively already broken his contract which would make him a free agent?

We're 2nd tier according to the Trinidad Guardian. I like the sound of that!!
However, they also stated that our previous manager was called Bet Victor.

Lawrence stays put as Soca Warriors coach - Trinidad Guardian
