Dennis Lawrence New Wrexham Manager (unconfirmed!)

I find it puzzling that people can have such a strong opinion in terms of Dennis Lawrence not being good enough. Ricketts had coached children and as much as it hurts me to say it proved to be a very good manager. Dennis Lawrence has a wealth of coaching experience at the highest level in some cases. Martinez wanted to take him to Belgium and Martinez took Belgium to the World Cup semi final so there must be something about him which is worthy of note

None of that means he will be a good manager of course, but equally how could anyone possibly be so sure he will be a poor choice?

I find this statement very bizarre for 2 reasons. Firstly he's out of contract next month so will be free to move whether T&T like it or not. Secondly putting the odds at the bottom of the statement seem very unprofessional. Wonder if they instigated the John Barnes rumours?

I was discussing this with my good mate today and we both thought that it sounded unprofessional and perhaps a wind up ? That part of the world is a strange place ...allegidly !

Heres Askeys stats as an apparent free-scoring attacking footballing manager

2013/14 - 62 goals scored (-1 goal difference) - 12th highest scorers in the league
2014/15 - 60 goals scored (+14 goal difference) - 13th highest scorers in the league
2015/16 - 60 goals scored (+12 goal difference) - 13th highest scorers in the league
2016/17 - 64 goals scored (+7 goal difference) - 10th highest scorers in the league
2017-18 - 67 goals scored (+21 goal difference) - 6th highest scorers in the league

Wrexhams goalscoring exploits in that spell (Wilkin, Mills, Keates) are famously terrible yet we scored 284 goals

Macclesfield during that 5-year spell (including when they won the league) scored 29 goals more than us. An average of 5.8 goals a year better than some of the worst scoring seasons we've ever had.
