Re: Dennis Lawrence New Wrexham Manager (unconfirmed!)
It’s really interesting seeing what different people think is ‘sad’. Personally, I found it eye-opening to see that Askey’s team over the 5 years had scored relatively few goals, while I have to admit the constant repetition of the opinion that someone who failed to make the playoffs 4 years in a row is some sort of managerial legend in this league is boring me.

Re: Dennis Lawrence New Wrexham Manager (unconfirmed!)
No sooner than Ricketts departs 'someone' or 'some people' dish out long term contracts for both Barrow & Pearson.
Have come to the conclusion that without a manager in place these decisions have been taken and that Lawrence is already sorted. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy that the two biggest stones in our foundations are cemented for the next two and a half years but it seems strange they both get approved within days of Ricketts departure and before the new man is in post - or perhaps he has been consulted from afar ?? |

Re: Dennis Lawrence New Wrexham Manager (unconfirmed!)
Must say I’ve found the informative stats and posts about Big Den and Askey interesting and it’s made me feel more positive about the former and less on the latter. Think I’ll be happy either way. Can’t remember feeling that way about a Wrexham managerial choice for a while.
Watch it be John f**king Barnes now. |

Re: Dennis Lawrence New Wrexham Manager (unconfirmed!)
Hi all. I've had some information tonight on the manager situation which will probably come as a surprise to you. What I'm being told is that Dennis Lawrence is unable to get a visa and so other options have had to be looked at. Of these other options, it has been decided that Wrexham will go with Darren Ferguson, with Lee Fowler as his assistant. Now, this may sound like a strange turn of events, but it's what I've been told tonight and I have no reason not to believe it.
Graham Barrow will be the physio. |

Re: Dennis Lawrence New Wrexham Manager (unconfirmed!)
The main criticism of Askey that you used to get off Macc fans was that he had no plan B. As that is an accusation that loves to get thrown at managers in RP I wonder if he'd be a good a fit as some are making out. Macc used to be infamous for their end of season slump. Before the promotion season some Macc fans had had enough, a lit of moaning about him on Wraggs to Riches.
