The 3-3 Tuesday night derby with Shrewsbury, proper atmosphere, proper away following top & bottom tier.
Remember the Shrews 3-3 game. It was due to be played on a Sunday but was postponed. Vaguely remember Paul Edwards scoring with a header? Proper derby.

Dixie did get sent off....think he kicked the ball away off the spot.....very weird. Vinter scored it I think.
Joey got the first and Dixie got the second, an absolute screamer.

thanks for the info, I thought it was for his hattrick .

The goalkeeper was time wasting and went for a jog along the by-line, dixie rolled the ball in to the net and the ref sent him off.

Strange decision by the ref, somethings don't change.

Ah yes winning away at Spurs in the 70s
The first time we got to FA cup 6 th round, winning at Palace, home v Boro, away at Southampton
Clinching promotion at Northampton on a Tuesday night what an away following that season, possibly 2/3 of ground at Rochdale
Anderlecht away , and when 1-0 up at home- best atmosphere ever, then they had couple quick passes 1-1
Promotion to real div 2v Rotherham 7-0 and town was heaving that night

We will rise again

Yes that was a cracking atmosphere, and a terrific ding dong end to end game. Trundle was lethal for us, we played really good football. Remember them scoring early from a corner, and Jemson I think scoring with his head in front of their 2,500 odd away following behind the goal. It finished 3-3 but thoroughly entertaining

Some great memories on this thread, was at every game bar Forest away and one or two others.Another one springs to mind is Vale at home must have been around 93/94. Remember loads of Vale in town then bumping into Mike Lake walking to the ground who was out long term injured and had had a few beers.Vale had thousands as were going up and were below us in the yale stand as had filled the tech end and just remember it being a mad atmosphere . Sure we beat them and Benno scored a screamer.
