This wouldn't surprise me, he's a Crawley lad, I know a lot of Crawley people and they tend not to stray too far from the homestead.

I asked Ricketts when he came to talk to Mold Reds what the club do to look after these young lads miles from home and family. He just said that they had company at the club house and that was about it. I don't think we give enough thought to what, after all, are very inexperienced young lads, away from their support and all the uncertainties of a career in football. It's not like going to uni where you have loads of people in the same boat and don't have 4000 people marking your essays every week. Toughen up? - maybe. I've got a lot of sympathy for them myself.

Lot of youths plucked from home towns and understandably homesick..

In our situation we generally have older lads on loan starring a house with others in same situation, are much more independent in respect of being able to drive.

If it's was a foreign player say from brazil, language issuss, no family or friends ok. Don't think we will have that issue ....

It's a job, support needs to be there to a certain degree but I'm probably more of mindset of its part of the the profession and building character
