Ground built on current style and not the souless box some fear.
The current ground strangles our ability to grow.

What you say is right and I think deep down a lot of people are now starting to realise that but the issue is the sentimentality towards the Racecourse and can people get past that?

Egress onto the A483 would take away fans directly away from the stadium in coaches/cars.

Is that the land where they have the circus, if so it could be a pain getting out on the Mold road.

If you go back 15 years or so, Alex Hamilton suggested redeveloping the Racecourse for retail and building the club a new ground out of the proceeds. Whilst we all know this was utter bollox, the mere idea of selling up and leaving wasn’t even entertained. It was the Racecourse or nowhere.

In comparison to Swansea and Llanelli, both sold their historic grounds in the middle of their respective towns and moved. To be honest, I don’t know the inner workings of their moves so it’s not right to comment.

In an ideal world, we want a new stadium on the site of the current one which is a bit of a fantasy. If the university had the money and desire, they could create a cracking venue which they could share with the football club.

I made a throw away suggestion of moving a few years back and was accused of being Geoff Moss!

Swansea's ground was paid for in full by the council. The football and rugby teams lease it from them.

There was very little council funding for the Millennium either. They had a 46 million grant from the national lottery and the rest was taken on as a loan by the WRU which they are still paying off to this day.
