This is just the most ridiculously embarrassing competition in the history of English football. I’ll always have fond memories of our day out in Wembley, but it means nothing when you consider what happened weeks later. Let’s go out and concentrate on what we’re all here for, to get out of this hell hole.

It’s like a top 6 side saying the FA Cup is a ridiculously embarrassing competition.

If, in the FA Cup, the teams that we were drooling over meeting had we reached the Third Round had disrespected us in the same way as some of our fans are now disrespecting the little clubs in leagues below us for whom this competition is the pinnacle of their challenges for this season, we'd be hanging them out to dry with accusations of cheating us and turning their backs yet again on grass roots football.

Hell, there are some hypocrites around!

Excellent post ^^^

It's hilarious really some fans want to throw this competition because they think it's beneath us, we as good as threw it last season and what difference did it make to a promotion challenge? Non it may have even had a detrimental effect some weeks no games.....

Barrow has stated we want to win it and the players, but some who call themselves fans want to throw it, players want to win trophies simple as.

I certainly don't think the competition is beneath us, but it could distract from the league and potentially force postponements in the busy winter months...not to mention injuries and fatigue.

The FA Cup is a world recognised and well respected competition, the Trophy isn't.

If we had a reserve team playing regularly in an established league this competition wouldn't have the same level of importance as far as I am concerned.
It is absolutely essential that squad players get an opportunity to play in genuine competitive game - how else can they retain their motivation and confidence?

My memories of our first trip to Wembley, somewhat clouded by my body thinking it was in Iceland, were we are playing in a 'cup final' - that it was FAT didn't matter once we were there.

I hope we go again and win it - unless we get injuries/bookings I don't believe it distracts from our push for promotion although as everyone has rightly said that has to be our 100% focus and aim.

Bit of a catch 22 really, play fringe players and lose, or play the strongest 11,win, but fringe players don't get the experience.
