Ups and downs reds at Bournemouth dec 92
 

Been clearing the cupboard and came across a programme from Dean Court . The Wrexham team defies belief but we were eleventh in old Div 2 ( now div 1 ) and our rivals were bottom . I can't remember the score it might have been 2-1 to us BUT this isn't a eulogy of the old days BUT an interesting view of the clubs in that division exactly 25 years ago .
Four are now in the Premier Huddersfield,Cardiff, Brighton and Bournemouth, of course and we were above three of those at that time . Five are now non league
- Stockport, York, Orient, Chester and us . Only eight were in the same division,five in the Championship and two in Div 2 Crewe and Cambridge!
It does go to show that there are no favours in football and clubs do have to plan long term ! So guys lets aim for the Premier league in 25 years time , sorry I shan't be here to see it , unless I am getting on for 100 !

Mark Cartwright was immense that day. Didn't they have something like 20 shots on target to our 1? Also seem to remember getting held back in the away end for ages after the whistle as the home fans were rioting outside...

Never mind 25 years ago, look where Bournemouth finished at the end of 2009 season, 21st in League 2 ( with a 17 point deduction). Just shows what a bit of investment can do to a club’s fortunes.

He was blocking iit with all parts of his body. Think it was the same season we lost 0-5 at home to David Moyes Preston, he had a complete mare and saw him drop his pint in Wetherspoons the same night.
