Well done all involved and Ryan Giggs for pushing for this, seems some porkies were being told about not being able to host international friendlies at least at the Racecourse by the FAW.

Fingers crossed we'll see more of the same in the future.

We would have had a friendly 3 years ago but the pitch and changing rooms weren't up to standard. This was when the pitch was about 50% sand.

I believe the new tunnel flame design was the clincher :44:

Because you’re a fliping silly billy. Wales haven’t been here for years, won’t ever be for a competitive game again, and all those hardy travellers and people who piled into the streets after Euro 2016 get to see their country in the flesh without the most miserable trip in Britain for once. It’s good for the town, the club and Welsh football. If it’s not for you that’s cool, but it’s only positive so if you can’t feel it then it’s something inside you, not because there’s anything wrong with this news.

I thought when the changing rooms were done, it was ensured, later to much fanfare that they were up to scratch?

After that it was the Kop being used as an excuse, Giggs has spoken many times about wanting a game at the Racecourse as a way of repaying the loyal following who travel from North Wales in great numbers every game.

Hopefully the FAW haven't allowed this because the revamped Colliers will be opening around the same time....

Great news, been a long time since we’ve had them up here. Hopefully a good turnout with the qualifiers starting a few days later.

Maybe I've got the timescale wrong with the changing rooms. They definitely ruled it out because of the pitch when they looked to play Iceland up here.

Offering a friendly with help of fa as a sweetener to release Big Den?

Probably not as looks like Challinor, but thought had crossed my mind!

It’s all good news and if it helps with grants to facilitate knocking down and remediating the Kop then it’s even better.

Will certainly make it harder for the council to ignore what a fantastic asset for the area the Racecourse is having such events and the boost the local encomy will receive each time.

Perhaps it will also kick start the FAW and WAG into investing in the ground/area/transport hub.

It's up to the council to seek funding from the WAG and how they propose to back it, match funding, partners like the WST etc. I can't see the FAW doing too much as everyone else will come asking.

I’d love the Trust and the Uni to commission a feasibility study for the Kop. It would identify the key issues at hand and, more importantly, the costs of demolition and clearance or reinstatement. It would also explore available grant options (if such exist).

Trinidad and Tobago rated 93rd. Can't see many first team players turning up for Wales.

What is Giggs trying to prove with this type of opposition?

It's more or less a training session. If we faced Germany or the like we'd not get an ideal amount of rest ahead of Slovakia. I'd expect Bale and Ramsey to get a half at most.

Since when were friendlies about proving anything?

Don’t want to go into an important qualification game on the back of a thrashing from Germany, much better to give a mix of first and fringe players some game time together.

Excuses from the other end, throwing one obstical after another in the way. Also a previous manager not wanting to go against the status quo, not wanting to play friendlies which has put the national team in a bit of mess.

More likely, Wrexham doesn't have fine dinning or plush hotels as Cardiff does.
