I think GB may even have mentioned the incident in one of the Dragonheart interviews beginning of the season.

A brawl that involved K.B falling down some steps, or some such tomfoolery?

Rather partial to a glass or three of red wine I seem to recall - but a character all the same - no matter your club allegiance we need characters in the game.

I remember seeing him at Ellesmere Port stadium in a pre season friendly between Ellesmere Port & Chester - he had his ankle in a plaster cast at the time and was on crutches - I suggested to him a quick cure - plunge your foot in a bucket of Wrexham lager - Chester won on the night 2 - 4 I think.

The following Saturday Wrexham played there - I remember Keiron Durkan playing for us - we lost 2 - 0.

For those who recall Ellesmere Port stadium it was used primarily for speedway - it's now all demolished and covered in houses.
At most clubs having a stand named after you would be seen as a great honour, however at the plastic box a bit of an embarrassment.

I remember the Harry McNally, Keith Berchsin incident.
Apparently Harry had warned his players that if they were caught drinking over Christmas they would be dismissed. Keith B. a big striker they had signed from Burnley unfortunately succumbed to temptation and found himself on a drip at the Deva. Fearing his days at Chester were over, he was relieved to find Harry McNally, also on a drip, on the same ward.

Definitely a character and the game is poorer without the likes of McNally. I remember Dixie McNeil telling me after a match once that both sets of players went to the turf. At 18:00 the Chester bus was pulling away but forgot McNally and Dixie had to carry him on his shoulder round the back of the kop and half way around the main stand before dumping him on the Chester bus.

Love it. Sometimes you have to look past local rivalries. The story is great.

Remember the stadium. Colwyn Bay played there as well when exiled.
