Default Tame media questions at interview/conferences

Having watched the press conferences this week and others, I can't help thinking that the journalists for the local papers in particular don't really ask any questions that you could remotely class as challenging.

I am not expecting it from the clubs media team, but i would like to see the local media papers ask the odd question that might be appropriate but challenging .

For example, i would have wanted a question to be asked of Spence Harris, you give the assistant a 2.5 year contract, as an assistant, the a few days later upgrade that to manager, can you explain the thought process as some do find it a bit strange?

I understand these people have to have a relationship with the club, and dont want to rock the boat too much, but even still , isn't the role of a journalist, even at local level to probe a bit?

Agree completely. Would certainly be interested in understanding why GB was given the 2.5 year assistant manager contract at the time.

Maybe the press conference to unveil GB wasn't itself the right time and may have turned the atmosphere a bit hostile but I would certainly like and expect a bit more of a challenge and insight into how we have ended up with GB and MN.

You don't get to stay in the same cushy job as long as Rich Williams has by asking tough questions.

Essentially a lot of people buy the Leader just for the football coverage so they probably don't want to agonise the club.

It's wrong and it's certainly not what I'd call journalism but until someone shows some balls it will never change.

Yeah agree completely. the local "journalists" and papers, the leader, DP, even the bbc just kiss the clubs backside at any available opportunity. They even did this when the likes of the Gut Hamilton Moss and Roberts were screwing the club over.
They've all got blood on their hands and they should all be ashamed of themselves.
And some claim they are fans, which is just ridiculous.

Let's be frank, we don't exactly have Robert Peston working for the local papers do we?

Blood on their hands? Who died?

Working for the Leader is a cushty job, not sure they're gonna rock the boat and risk losing their jobs.

You know what I mean, they didn't exactly help in times of trouble did they? And where the hell was Mother Mary?

Rich is a nice chap with a young family, and a real supporter.

He has chosen a profession that is also his passion. Why would he want to risk giving all this up?

If this was my chosen career path, I certainly wouldn't.

The Leader journalists should not be compared to other daily's or tabloids.
