Re: New Training Ground
WCBC trying to show they care again when in reality it means nothing.
Easy to provide some lip service but as AA points out there are major problems with the site before we even start and where do those funds come from? IMO the whole kop end and ownership/access needs sorting out and correcting before anything can be started. |

That needs to be defined and clarified so a basis can be established. We dont want any further confusion on who is responsible for what and lay down the basic ground rules here. |

Re: New Training Ground
I'm unsure who will pay for what as I'm not privy, but just pointing out to the person/people who think the WCBC will spend several million pounds of tax payers money on a stand for a football club is complete nonsense.I mean...are people really that nieve ?

If you’re a non Wrexham supporter, it looks like WCBC or the Govt funding the demolition and remediation of the Kop for businesses to profit from. When I lived in Chester, I wouldn’t have been happy if Cheshire West and Chester Council were using my council tax to help Chester FC. |

Re: New Training Ground
There are lots of examples of councils providing funding for football club’s stadiums (links below).
It of course needs to make financial sense. Wrexham AFC already generates millions for the town and local businesses every year, which the council seem to be waking up to. Would a redevelopment result in higher crowds and/or promotion, which results in more money being spent in the town, at a time when footfall to town centres is falling? https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-englan...yside-46652512 https://www.crewechronicle.co.uk/new...sfield-5597238 https://www.theguardian.com/football...erpool-council https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2558...oad-to-council https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/news...lions-14136195 https://www.keepmoat.com/moving-the-...m-swansea.html |
