Re: New Training Ground
Sick of reading the negative shite on here....Great news for the future.
Groves is lucky to still be there for a start and not converted into flats Whilst some would like us to throw all the money at a couple of players on way down for their final pay cheque...Good moves forward !! Up the Town !!! |

Agree by the way. Can't see this being anything other than good news for the club.

Re: New Training Ground
Do the people complaining on here seriously think that we're just going to pay for this all up front so we have no money for players.
Councillor Mark Pritchard said, "Subject to approvals, addressing current conditions and legal requirements for the site, it is hoped that the club could begin training on grounds at the former Groves school in 2020." This is still very much in the planning process and we need to move to facilitate the council's plans to build a primary school on nine acres, so I doubt very much that the 150 year lease will be any more than the current rent. With regard to the infrastructure, there's a very good chance that the bulk of this expenditure won't even fall within this financial year anyway. |

We need a training ground as we can't stay where we are and even if we could its not ideal. So we need a training ground and the club have sorted it , I don't see a problem. I doubt they've gone to GB and said we need to take some money out of the player budget to pay for it. Even the most basic thought process should tell you this. |

Re: New Training Ground
This is great news.
An interesting comment from Mark Pritchard too. Perhaps there is other stuff in the pipeline. “Cllr Pritchard added: “Football – and Wrexham AFC in particular – plays such an important part in the day-to-day life of Wrexham and this work marks the start of much closer working between ourselves and the club.”” |

Re: New Training Ground
Will we be reimbursed for the money we've spent on nine acre? Smarts a bit that we had a great training ground that was stolen from us but you can't live in the past so must hail this as a welcome development provided it doesn't reduce our playing budget materially
