I sometime wonder whether a big crowd goes against us.
Does it inspire our players to do well or does it raise the game of the opposition ?
Used to have the same thoughts watching Wales Rugby team at the Millenium stadium - how could they possibly lose with that massive vocal partisan support - but it happens.

Perhaps some players thrive on the big match atmosphere and it makes them feel ten feet tall. Others might go the opposite way, go into their shells and become fearful of making a mistake.

The job of the Salford team will be to keep the crowd quiet and frustrate us - but a fascinating clash for both teams supporters. We will truly be able to judge our title credentials by 02 January. Thought we did well against Orient and if Pearson's header had hit the back of the net who knows - fine margins and all that. A set piece, a penalty, a sending off or a player creating some unexpected moment of brilliance.

I'm assuming no more than 1 or 2 points from the next 3 games and hopefully I'll then be pleasantly surprised!!

When you say “us”, you must mean the fans and not the players because the players are interchangeable.

Going into the season everyone thought Salford were going to romp it, that they had the title already showed up. Well they're in the mix but they certainly aren't the runaway favourites everyone had them pinned down to be. They're beatable.
Its looking likely the crowd is going to be touching 8k, we need all need to play out part and make the racecourse as hostile as possible to Salford, cheer every misplaced pass, every wayward shot, every turnover in possession andsot importantly back out players on the pitch, we know where we're lacking but nothing can be done until January so let's give the players that have gotten us in the mix full backing from the off!
