On Boxing Day 1998 we entertained Manchester City in League 1 and lost narrowly 1-0.There was just over 9,000 at the Racecourse that day, including nearly 2k from City. Incredible that there will be more Wrexham fans watching us today in non league against their tin pot neighbours !

God was that 20 years ago. Remember it being a very tight match with us being right at them from the kick off.

20 years ago ! a fifth of a century - wow !

I was there - the only season we were in the same league as City.
Drew 0 - 0 away early on and then the home game as per thread where if I recall we outplayed them all match only to lose to a headed second half goal in the Tech End net by a player who's name escapes me but possibly German centre back ??

Out of interest, how many did Luton bring to our place in 2012 for the play off semi? If it's over 1076 then today was our largest home following since we've been in non league.
