Your best ever Wrexham match
 

Which is the best match you have seen Wrexham play in and why.

From my point of view it was Wrexham v Middlesbrough in the 4th round of the FA Cup in 1974.

The pitch was extremely muddy and energy sapping. Jackie Charlton was the Middlesbrough manager and they were running away with the old Division two title. Included amongst the Boro team that day were;

Jim Platt, David Armstrong, Graeme Souness, Alan Foggon, David Mills, Willie Maddren, John Craggs and Stuart Boam - all well known names of the time and very good players.

Wrexham won 1-0 with a crowd of over 20,000.

Incidentally, we played them again in December 1999 in the 3rd Round of the FA Cup and beat them 2-1 in front of an 11,700 crowd. Included in the Boro team that day were:

Mark Schwarzer, Gary Pallister, Paul Gascoigne, Juninho, Robbie Mustoe, Christian Ziege and Brian Deane - WOW!!

West Ham away in the FA Cup, a very even match even though they were two divisions above us and Rooster scored in the last minute.

Being 2 goals down and than winning 4-3, I think they went up that season also

Memorable because we completely outplayed both teams who were in the old 1st Division

Wrexham 7 Rotherham 1 April 1978, memorable also because it clinched promotion to the old 2nd Division for the first (and only) time in our history

More recently winning the FA Trophy match at Wembley against Grimsby, as it was our first match at Wembley

Got to be Arsenal game or Birmingham away 97 cup run but also loved the last game of the 02/03 promotion season.

FA trophy win was a good one and Boston albeit bittersweet as we went down the next year.
