In a game like today's the ref needs to stamp his authority early on. Players know where they stand and it makes the refs job easier.
Today's ref made a rod for his own back and the game seemed too big for him.
As stated he got no support from his Assistants but we won and we move on.

Glad we won because the ref would have been blamed.

He was absolutely dreadful, couldn't even see blatant elbows and pushing right under his nose.had no help from his linesmen who were equally as bad .
I remember the linesman on the Yale side. He officiated us once and was even worse.
