Maybe I'm being incredibly naïve but I got the impression the way Keates left was handled professionally and correctly on both sides. With Ricketts, it all seemed very suspicious and underhand. But then I don't know the full facts in either case so can only guess.
Given that Ricketts brought Barrow to the club you could argue Ricketts' departure has worked out a lot better than that of Keates. Time will tell...

No problem with Keates and wish him well. It's Keates dad I have issues with convincing him to take the job! :P (I'm not serious) but boyhood club chance to manage them, closer to family and friends was a no brainer and he did almost turn it down. The timing was bad for us, but he acted in the right way and those opportunities don't come around often. If we are looking for a manager in the future (hopefully years from now) and he is out of work I'd have him back providing everything was right.

As for Rickett's I keep an eye out for the Shrewsbury result now. Really hope to see them in the same league as us next year.

Hate him but is Ricketts really struggling that much? Haven't followed it obsessively but think they've had some ok results since he's been there.

When I seen the title of the thread I thought they had both been sacked or in an accident of some sort.

Personally I think what Keates did was probably worse than Ricketts as Keates had good history here and left us in the lurch at a crucial time.

Whereas Ricketts had no history and left with time to replace him.

Both are gone we move on.

I don't think last season would have ended any differently had Keates stayed on tbh, so I am indifferent to him.
The way Rickets left just seemed underhand but I tend to agree with the idea that GB was the force behind the suit and we are no worse off now.

We were well on our way to playing Colwyn Bay until Keates stepped in. For a few years I was panicking we might leave this division and now I’m hoping we leave it the other way. Keates turned us around and I’ll always be grateful of that. He deserved the opportunity higher up.
