Given that Ricketts brought Barrow to the club you could argue Ricketts' departure has worked out a lot better than that of Keates. Time will tell...
I agree entirely- be sure others are also guessing.

All going nicely for a relegation decider on 4 May.
Be like the 78 final game with 3 sets of fans cheering 2 teams

Won 1 in 6, and taken 6 points out of a possible 18.

Dean keates i liked as a player , person and manager. He steadied the ship after Gary Mills , and left us in a much better position. Our current sound defence is his legacy. Hes clearly still got lots of friends around here, nice touch still paying his WST subs. Yes I was frustrated when he left but times a healer. I wish him well

I never liked Sam Ricketts from the start, thought he came accross as an arrogant bell end. Reportdly a difficult chap to work with. I really hope he fails miserably as hes shown zero respect or gratitude towards us.

All fair points IMO which I agree with completely. Still ,according to some, there is no difference between the two - which ,for me , is rubbish. Only area I would honestly disagree with is I welcomed Ricketts. I hope one day we will all actually be acknowledging the arrival of his deputy much more than him.

The thing is, if Shrewsbury did get relegated and we went up, the chances of Sam the snake being manager against us next season are very slim. Sam had Darlo a d Barrow here to point him in the right direction. Barrow an experienced manager and Darlo a tactical genius. Without that Sam is nothing. Keates on the other hand left us to join his boyhood club. Can't really blame him for that, but it did cost us that season. Good luck to him though.

Thinking about it, these two managers have left and gone up a couple of levels and now we are left with Barrow, Newell, Jussi and Darlington. Seriously? How did we end up with such a strong management team? I think we are stronger now than we ever have been at this level.
