Once the new training ground is sorted , I think we will see the return of a reserve team.

I can see Fondop going back to Guiseley.

The question we need to ask is, would any of our rivals take Fondop or Holroyd, probably not, we need better than both of them.

Surely Fondop should have been on the bench at salford.
One look at the pitch, the fact they had narrowed it, made it obvious they intended to stifle us and love him or hate him he is something different, holroyd wasnt going to get the room to work. Second half we kept hitting balls into the box without joy and ended up pushing pearson forward, instead of employing fondop.

I think some of the criticism of Fondop is harsh. At Maidstone although he didn't score (and appeared reluctant to shoot - low on confidence?) he caused their defence a lot of trouble. Considering Finney moved to Aldershot from Maidstone before our recent game I was surprised he didn't get 10-15 minutes as even with Holroyd on for Beavon we didn't look like scoring. I can only conclude that GB doesn't rate him (and since Tollitt's arrival he hasn't even made the bench). If the manager doesn't think he is worth a place on the bench (or worse not worth bringing on from the bench when we are struggling to score) then surely he needs to go, probably on loan with a recall option in case we have an injury crisis later in the season.

Holroyd seems to be the no.1 sub striker at the moment so we need another striker (2 if Grant is to play as an attacking midfielder) before even thinking of releasing him. I think Deverdics is a more serious candidate for release although that might depend on Walker or ANO signing on.

Whatever happens we appear to be in a far stronger position than last season. let's hope for 3 points tomorrow.

Kev stop talking sense I've been saying that since we scrapped the reserves, Brian Little scrapped our reserve side but did play them in occasional friendlies, Saunders when he took over one of the first things he did was re-instate it and sensibly so.

Where is the likes of Tharme Fondup & Holroyd supposed to get game time to get sharp and prove they deserve a chance in the first team? Players are coming off the bench and fans expecting miracles off them, even Deverdics needs game time, but hey ho let's keep going the non league amateur way.

With Rickett’s undeniable focus on professionalising our club again, you would have thought that he would have re-introduced reserve games... perhaps there are logistical reasons as to why this hasn’t been done.
