Sad to hear that Reg has passed away. Signed from Manchester Utd , he was a member of our 1961/62 Promotion squad and made a total of 145 appearances for the Reds. RIP Reg.

A kid in the boys pen when Reg played am I right he was right full back and Peter Jones was left back?

Rev Holland arrived from Manchester United along with winger Reg Hunter and another full back Peter Jones. The two Regs went straight into the team and initially Peter Jones played in the reserves. As time went on it became clear that Jones was a class act and He nailed down the RB position. The LB, for years, was the superb Aly McGowan.

Again one of my childhood heroes has passed away. Rest in Peace Reg. and thankyou for some great moments supporting the Reds in the early 60s .

For me, all correct. Aly McGowan became a staunch Brymbo man playing 5s and 3s for The George and Dragon for many years.

Very sorry to hear of his passing - a very good fullback. I used to work with his wife and if my memory serves me correctly, is the sister of Hank Marvin, lead guitarist of the Shadows.

Went to school in Ashton and represented his country at schoolboy level. There picked up by Man U. Then remember him giving great service to Wrexham.
