I just think we were mentally shot. We had the hardest cams fixtures of any team and it showed itself today.

Very disappointing but as results go we are no further from the top so could of been worse.

Default Re: Dover ratings

Lainton (7) Did all he could. Kicking was much improved.

Roberts (3) Played like an old man.

Lawlor (6) Got sloppy in the last 15 minutes.

Pearson (7) My MOTM despite his getting to lipped towards the atrocious ref.

Jennings (6) Tried hard but lacks quality.

Summerfield (3) His official MOTM status was the ultimate piss take. His legs have turned to lead, and his delivery was constantly awful. And he missed that header. Needs a rest.

Walker (6) Best of the midfielders but he alternated between the ridiculous and sublime. Hope he signs up!

Young (4) Lacks presence.

Rutherford (6) Worked hard but just lacks quality when it counts.

Beavon (4) Needs a rest.

Grant (6) Not a striker and he needs to play deeper.

Subs:

Tollitt (6) His pace and ability shines in an otherwise dull team.

Wright (5) Where should we play him to get the best out of him?

Holroyd (5) Not on too long but he just looks slow and lightweight.

Not a good day. GB got a few things wrong, today. Tired legs and lack of a midfield general undid us as much as our lack of strikers.

Must do better, soon!

Thats a mentality thing in were happy with the point.
In addition we dont have players to bring on that can change a game.

If we score first it settles the team but the longer we go without scoring then the more clueless we become. We also have too many players that cannot hit a barn door with a shotgun

I also think that trying to shoehorn Rutherford into this non-descript formation - neither 433 or 442 messes us up.
Either get 3 forwards and play 433 or ditch the midfield diamond and play a 442.

Plus Grant is a total waste and the only positive is that his contract is only this season. He will be dropped and the leave before next season.
When GB signed him I had a huge sense of disappointment. Barton knows his stuff

Man marked us and we couldn’t cope

They were first to every ball and wanted to win every second ball

No one could beat a man @ Roberts , so many opportunities: and we pass the ball backwards

They came to frustrate , it worked, one shot one goal

Lainton 6
Roberts 5 - light years behind Carrington as a footballer
Lawlor 7
Pearson 7
Jennings 6
Summerfield 5
Young 4
Walker 5
Grant 1
Beavon 5
Rutherford 7

Barrow 2 . Poor motivation , tactics , subs and team clearly not fit.

Board 1 for so easily losing managers and appointing assistants who aren’t up to it
