Default Dover ratings

Lainton 5
Roberts 4
Pearson 5
Lawlor 5
Jennings 5
Summerfield 3
Young 3
Walker 3
Beavon 5
Grant 3
Rutherford 5

Wright 4
Tollit 6
Holroyd N/A

Rubbish performance from start to finish, midfield non existent, full backs offer nothing going forward and strikers useless, why doesnt Tollit start ???
Summerfield man of the match was the worst man of the match award ever, his passing and crossing was awful today.

The front 6 need changing for Bromley, it's clearly been too many games in a short period. Summerfield should be banned from set pieces until further notice.

Default Re: Dover ratings

Lainton 6 - Not his fault we lost
Roberts 3 - Dreadful
Pearson 5 - Thought he's supposed to be our leader, too busy moaning at refs half the time.
Lawlor 5 - Stood off them too much and wasn't great
Jennings 6 - At least he tried to get forward.
Summerfield 2 - Going downhill fast, woeful set pieces, were his boots on the right feet?
Young 2 - Spent the whole game avoiding the ball and involvement in the game at all costs.
Walker 3 - Overrated. Way over rated in fact. Luckiest man on earth if he gets a League one club.
Beavon 4 - Fitness is dreadful and although 'busy' was mostly ineffective.
Grant 3 - Doesn't do enough but isn't a striker. When Beavon inevitably has to go off he;'s shoved up front out of position.
Rutherford 3 - Simply not good enough to be in a league winning team. Works hard enough but that just isn't enough in these types of games. Everyone should have woken up to this long ago.

Wright 3 - Does he manage to finish his dinner? how many chances has he wasted recently?
Tollit 6 - Tried his best but don't expect him to get any better in the current forward killing set up.
Holroyd n/a no time really to do anything and i doubt he would have changed the game anyway.

Barrow 1 - Poor tactics, poor team selection, poor everything. Still the same old negative crap at home. Needs a grow a set and show some ambition especially in home games.

Default Re: Dover ratings

Totally off the pace today and an embarrassment frankly.

Lainton 7 - Nothing to do except pick the ball out of the net

Roberts 5 - What did Carra do to get dropped ? Roberts rarely gets higher than a 5. Today is no exception
Lawlor 6 - Distribution suspect today
Pearson 7 - Tried to get them going but it wasn't happening
Jennings 6 - Just OK.Nowhere near the level he reached for Salford home

Walker 5 - Strolling around as if it was a training match
Young 4 - Too lightweight for this division and I say it on every rating thread but we keep playing him
Summerfield 3 - What's happened to him ? Set pieces were abysmal, muscled out of it and missed a sitter.MOTM award was a joke

Rutherford 6 - Tried hard but zero end product
Beavon 5 - Hard work is sometimes not enough
Grant 3 - What have we done ? No goals, can't hold the ball up, first touch like Big Den in his first game

Subs

Tollitt 6 - At least had a go and has to start on Tuesday with Oswell
Wright 3 - Has the physique but no brain
Holroyd - Not on long enough

Default Re: Dover ratings

Lainton 6 - could do nothing about that great strike moving away from him into the corner. I don't think he had any other save (or catch) to make during the match. But some really poor kicks from him, again.

Roberts 4 - Poor going forward today. Really struggled up against their forwards
Lawlor 6 - Another decent defensive performance from him, looked like he squandered a great header in the first half. from one of our rare good free-kicks today
Pearson 6 - Solid enough
Jennings 5 - Did okay. Some good crosses at times

Walker 4 - Some real sloppy passing, gave the ball away a lot. Lethargic. We were caught on the counter many times from him getting caught or playing a poor pass. A better side would have punished us more often (or created some chances)
Summerfield 2 - Really bad. What has happened to these amazing set pieces we were seeing in the first few months of this season?
Young 3 - Did not offer anything really in the more advanced midfield role. The game just passed him by

Grant 2 - Aside from one good through ball to play Rutherford in the second half (before their keeper rushed out to clear), I think everything he did went wrong today. Some really poor control, poor passing, no pace. I genuinely don't know what his position should be; perhaps where Luke Young was playing today? He certainly shouldn't be wide or a focal forward of the front 3.
Beavon 5 - Tried hard, won his usual good amount of headers. He absolutely needs a rest. I would bench him vs Bromley (bringing on if needed) and then completely rest him from the Trophy. Should move to a wide-forward position as we see Oswell take the focal point
Rutherford 4 - one of his poorer performances. I'd like to see him move back to the midfield

Subs:
Tollitt 6 - I don't know if he did enough to justify a 6 but it was just good to see someone direct and running at the opposition after that shocking first half. A couple of really nice balls across the face of goal where we had nobody there - hopefully Oswell will be the poacher to finish those
Wright 5 - Did more than Young did; again one really nice ball across goal that had nobody there
Holroyd N/A

Aside from possibly Tollitt, no midfielder or forward can say they had a good game; was all set for a 0-0 and we hope it is a one-off and move on, but to lose to a great strike late on, when Dover were really just as bad as us, was even worse.

Ricketts used to get some slack for too much rotation, but we have looked out on our feet with the lack of rotation during all these festive games. Get Oswell straight into the main forward role and start Tollitt on Tuesday. Rest Beavon, and get Carrington back in at right-back.

I am sick and tired of conceding late goals especially when we never score late equalisers or winners. When was the last time we scored a last minute goal that salvaged a positive result?
