Default Getting better at the hoof

Its a simple point but I think Barrow wants us to get better at Hoofball.

I am an idealist and love to watch great passing football, but sadly Salford and Dover have shown the National League version of the beautiful game can be countered.

Our great attacks in the conference have had a fast guy (Speight, Mangan) and great headers of the ball (Pogba, Taylor, Morrell, Wright). These were attacks that could make use of the long ball. Its where we currently fail but shouldn't with new signings.

If Oswell is a young Beavon (quote from Barrow) and a.n other has better control, then we can play the hoof game. Sad but probably necessary, because we can't get hold of three midfielders who can pass through the swamp.

If you like watching great passing football, why do you support Wrexham in the Conference?
It’s a myth that we play attractive football. We boot it long as much as our opponents. Lawlor is pretty good at the 60 yard diagonal. Certainly as good as Creighton.

I genuinely don’t care how we play as long as it’s effective. Solihull were derided for hoofing it. They scored 4 yesterday!

Could do with bringing in Darren Carter in midfield. Big horrible fker who'll run the show.

Our best performances this season have been from ourselves being on the front foot and keeping it on the deck

Yeh and playing with a greater intensity.
Salford at home was good to watch, passing, movement and taking players on.
In lots of games we go backwards and sideways too much. Some argue its about keeping the ball which is fine but there has to be purpose to it.

All 4 midfielders were poor yesterday which completely destroyed our creativity.

Got to agree with this. Would tend to give Young a bit of slack as it was his first game back but he really should be showing more.
We also need to give Grant a chance in his favoured position and not hang him out to dry on the wing.

Agree - he looked uncomfortable at times - stopped counting how often he failed to find space wide after laying the ball off.

Yeh I agree. Whilst I havent been impressed in the slightest with Grant he should be given a go as an attacking midfielder.

Given the current squad I think 442 would suit bettter and get the 2 strikers working together as Grant offers nothing and Rutherford can be used of the bench.

No chance with that one. I'm almost certain he moved to Solihull to remain close to home.
