Surely Graham Barrow would have anticipated something like this happening and would have been looking at options for a replacement weeks ago. Fingers crossed, he can bring in a replacement sooner rather than later.

With any luck, Walker will see the light and realise he is best placed here, football wise but I guess it comes down to money and who can blame him for moving on if he can get an extra 50% wages each week.

If I was a Shrewsbury fan, I’d be pretty bewildered to be going after Walker, given he didn’t make it at League 2 Crewe and is now going to them off the back of an ok 3 months of football in the conference? In my humble opinion if he was ready right now for that jump, we’d have all be talking about how he played Dover off the park on Saturday, not pointing out all his misplaced passes and going missing. Smacks of snake running out of ideas at the meadow.
Ah, sense at last and someone who has watched him play with eyes wide open.

Only option would be to go back out on loan to either us or Crewe if this is the case surely?
Only one fella on here was saying that, I was never convinced it was the case. Loans are different.

Looks like it's true

Fifa rules are also pretty clear and just say you can only play competitive matches for more than 2 teams in a year. No mention of loans.

Unfortunately whilst we remain in this league we can never compete with league teams for keeping players or managers, or acquiring new players.

Two clubs in one season does seem to be the rule, but maybe there is a way around it?

"A player may only be registered with one club at a time.

Players may be registered with a maximum of three clubs during
one season. During this period, the player is only eligible to play
official matches for two clubs. As an exception to this rule, a player
moving between two clubs belonging to associations with overlapping
seasons (i.e. start of the season in summer/autumn as opposed to
winter/spring) may be eligible to play in official matches for a third
club during the relevant season, provided he has fully complied with
his contractual obligations towards his previous clubs. Equally, the
provisions relating to the registration periods (article 6) as well as to the
minimum length of a contract (article 18 paragraph 2) must be respected.

Under all circumstances, due consideration must be given to the
sporting integrity of the competition. In particular, a player may not
play official matches for more than two clubs competing in the same
national championship or cup during the same season, subject to
stricter individual competition regulations of member associations."
