I don't recall anyone saying he is.
He's been here a few years now though so shouldn't we see some of his top coaching reflected on the pitch? Our attacking play has been dire since he's been here as an example and we are often out thought by the better teams in this league. Or teams like Dover who consistently seem to out think us, as did Macclesfield. Just two examples.

So he's not the root of the problem but he is one of the constants throughout the last few seasons and under different managers the issue remained, i.e. creating scoring goals has been a huge problem still to be solved.

Last season we were flying high with abominable insult to the word football but we would accept if it got us out this shit tip of a league, then new year January desperate last minute signings to strengthen our forward line Deverdics who to be fair has hardly had a run of games this season (is he worse than all our incompetent midfielders?) add him a forward from Harrogate who looked like a pub footballer,Franks who only got games off the bench and Darlingtons recommendation Quigley who started off like a train and hit the buffers after half a mile. Then Keates getting the escape route out of here, then we all know what happened we gave the job to his assistant who knew he was off to a better wage and higher league at the end of season.. Most of us seen it as a sensible move as he knew the players and the style of play.(with hindsight probably a bad appointment)

Roll on end of 2018 as I said on another thread during the Ricketts will he won't he leave situation the form especially away went and to be honest it's only partially recovered since, many are blinded by one good result when we used up 5-6 games worth of goals for.

What we have done is the same as last season given the job to the assistant who can't lose at 64 2.5 yrs pay taking him up too his pension so getting the sack would be a nice early retirement for him and a good laugh for his Chester buddies -----Yes i am being sarcastic.

But in all seriousness as other's have said we have just under 3 week's to strengthen the side more, major surgery is required in midfield and at fullbacks although the fullbacks will have to wait. So whatever happens we will have two hope that Barrow and Newel can quickly get what's needed in and find away of winning games and scoring goals I feel Beavon needs to play in the hole behind his 2 new strikers as he is our most intelligent forward.

Either way Barrow is here for the for a long time and questions should be asked of the board how they justify a 2.5 yr contract to a man of 64 in life anyone of this age who has worked all his life is probably knackered and looking forward to retirement so lose the hunger of a younger person. Our top managers are all late 30s- or in their 40s hungry for success...

Question that needs asking is why he was given a 2.5 year assistant managers contract extension when Rickets went. I still can't understand why that was done.

The answer is we have too many average and underperforming players, and I imagine it is difficult to coach them to be consistently better. If they were they probably wouldn’t be playing in the NL.

We therefore need to recruit better quality players, and slowly get rid of those who aren’t good enough. GB has started that process but it is too early to say how much success we’ll have. It is very frustrating we cannot take advantage of our points tally, but I would be more concerned if we were Aldershot or Chesterfield. Ultimately, it all boils down to results, with the odd 5-1 (deserved) victory to keep morale high.

Let’s see where we are come February before we throw the baby out with the bath water.

PS CD is part-time. The responsibility lies with the Board for appointing the right manager - the movement of Keates and Ricketts into the FL suggests they were good but imperfect appointments - and the allocation of sufficient funds. It’s then up to GB to spend it wisely. Jury is out at the moment, but GB needs to stop the rot and get us winning again.

Reading between the lines Barrow allegedly grabbed Ricketts by the throat and said to him you have lost me my job ( i could be wrong but that's what I was told) so he stood in and got a good performance against Newport with Ricketts team, the Board wasn't expecting Ricketts to jump so they weren't prepared for looking for another manager, don't forget the board is part time volunteers, a lot of hassle to start all over again so because we did well against Newport offered Barrow the job which he had no interest in he was happy as assistant hence the misguided contract.

I've watched all Barrows interviews and he hardly looks at the camera or who he is talking to, that strikes me as one of 2 things he is either shy or lacks confidence in him job.

Ah right so its all the players fault. You're generalising about many, many players we've had here recently many of whom we couldn't get a tune out of but other clubs do. Why is that?

Saying we just need better players is so simplistic.
We sign players who have had success in this league with other clubs, they come here and bang they just crumble.
So its either poor scouting and recruitment or we just don't have the manager or coaching staff to get the best out of them.

We haven't had consistent performances and goals from a striker for example since Moult left and we even under used him, leaving him out of the side for absolute dross.
How long will this be swept under the carpet for?

This is going to be a question the board will face constantly. Baffling.
