WREXHAM AFC ANNOUNCE PLANS FOR A NEW TRAINING GROUND IN THE CENTRE OF THE TOWN

Wrexham AFC have worked with Wrexham Council while at Nine Acre to identify a potential new site for a purpose built training venue.
Wrexham Council have supported Wrexham AFC’s proposal for a training ground to be developed at the former Groves School site.
This proposal is subject to approvals, current conditions and legal requirements for the site.
Wrexham AFC today announce that it has been working with Wrexham Council during our time at Nine Acre to identify a potential new site for a new purpose built training venue.

We are delighted that Wrexham Council have supported our proposal for the new long term training ground to be developed at the former Groves School in the centre of town.

Subject to approvals, addressing current conditions and legal requirements for the site, it is hoped that we could begin training at the Groves site as early as 2020.

The proposal is to create a purpose built training venue that would include 2 brand new pitches suitable for a professional football club with one of the two pitches modeled on the Racecourse playing surface.

This is the next step in reinstating the infrastructure needed for future success.

We have been working to build a long lasting positive partnership with Wrexham Council and the Groves site has huge potential for us.

The proximity to the Racecourse and the town centre location means that Wrexham AFC can remain right at the heart of the town.

The plans do not include the listed Groves School building itself which will remain an asset in the councils education department, surplus to requirements.

Great news providing the new training ground is built to a high standard .It's in a great place but watch the locals moan especially about the 9 acre development !
