Beavon should be back asap playing alongside Oswell or Stockton, sure they would learn from him. Beavon would also benefit from having someone to share workload. As far as yesterday goes if it was a pre season game I'd be reasonably happy but it sadly wasn't , very worrying the state of the midfield lots of ball chasing but little end product. I think JJ was the only player who looked reasonably comfortable and was my mom.

I saw positives yesterday. Oswell looks very very rusty but nevertheless he was getting to the right point at the right time. Stockton looks again rusty but also looks promising. I was pleasantly surprised how the back three were almost completely untroubled.

The wingbacks were pretty static a lot of the time, but both of them did the occasional good thing. I don't think Wright, Summerfield and Young had great games, but neither were we outplayed on midfield.

The front two were no better at holding the ball up than previous combinations, but I would back Stockton to be a better partner for Beavon than we've had before. I think with Grant behind them, we would have a better strikeforce.

Tollitt just needs a bit of game time, what he's trying to so is always very difficult but its great to see someone brave running with the ball.

What baffled me yesterday was that GB had said we didn't have the CB's to play 3 5 2 before then starts the game with players that have been here all season in Roberts Walker & Lawlor!

Don't see why you're baffled . The weakness was in midfield.

Because when he signed Kieran Kennedy he said "“It gives us depth and would also allow us to play with three at the back if needs be.”

The point I was making is that we could have done that anytime with the players we already had.

He hasn't strengthened midfield so still doesn't have the players for it!

I doubt he would play those three at the back in a league game, it was a makeshift back three just to try it out.

Where is the width. That solves nothing.
