Default Re: Would we be any better off points / performance wise if Ricketts was still in charge?

I consoled myself after yesterdays defeat , by reading the Slops result !

I know thats sad but I have always hated them ,so a leopard never changes his spots

I just saw this on their forum ,and I had a wry smile

Well today was worse than anything offered up in any of the games during Askey's time in charge in my opinion. We were very fortunate not to get beat 5 or 6.

That performance was both appalling and worrying in equal measure.

Ricketts inherited a team having won 5 in 6 and has been taking them gradually backwards ever since culminating in that today. If we do get dragged into the bottom four is he, with so little managerial experience, a man that can get us out of it.

Alarm bells are, or should be, now ringing loudly.

He's not here and to be honest, couldn't care less about him.... We've got Barrow and let's all get behind him and the lads

Yes we would because we could not be much worse.

He had a good December and I can't see that we'd have done any better under Ricketts. January has been a horrorshow but we've had 4 games in 12 days, including some very tough games away at Salford (league favourites) and Bromley (plastic pitch team in form) the Dover and Orient Trophy games were poor performances but both games that could have gone the other way quite easily.

My own opinion is that the schedule has caught up with us a bit. Would Ricketts have done better? Who knows. He was criticised for his substitutions. Barrow has brought two strikers in, who haven't really had time to bed into the team, whereas Rickets is the manager who brought in the non firing players.

He's yesterday's news anyway. We have to give Barrow the time to turn it around.

Your last paragraph says it all Ricketts is in our history books now, we must stop this continually looking backwards, whilst Barrow and his side kick are in charge we must get behind them, wrong decision giving him the job or not oily time will tell which one of those decisions is right. Meanwhile things won't improve without supporting no matter how much moaning goes on here.

Might as well ask if we'd be in League 2 if Keates had stayed. Pointless question.

Im not one to froth but I wanted Barrow until the end of the season, the contract length appears to me to be absolute madness. I dont know much about Darlington apart from he is highly rated allegedly. Hes not made much difference though when you look at results, He even had a free run when Keates left.

If we do capitulate once again Ill be very concerned that this set up is going to work next season. Its just my opinion dont shoot me.
