True but nor did either complete one full season. You can't really call them successful either.
All the teams promoted from this league, from memory managed to hang onto theirs for at least one season. Begs the question why we can't?

Because any manager with ambition will jump up 2 leagues when offered the chance maybe? I don't know but they obviously thought they were doing something right.

There is no easy answer to the question.
Not sure that changing the board members or adding to the numbers would be beneficial.
When Don and Barry were on the board we appointed Mills, Started well and then went downhill. They sacked him.
Then made what appears to be 2 decent appointments in Keates and Ricketts and got left n the lurch.
Board members have now got up to 7(?) years experience of running the club and have generally been successful. They don't pick the team but do provide the manager with all the funds available for the budget and more besides.
Not sure what more they can do.
Maybe have a referendum on the next managerial appointment and insist that everyone votes.

I take it your last sentence was tongue in cheek.

I'm only asking questions here by the way, I'm genuinely not having a dig.

They have been generally successful off the pitch, but I'm specifically talking about on the pitch which after the manager the buck stops with the board.
Its impossible to say what more they could do beyond increase their budget, which I know they have done for different managers.
The rate we lose managers at, whatever way that is, is a concern though.

What I'm getting at is how long before we, or the club look beyond just changing managers to bring success on the pitch?

Not sure I agree with this. Sadly, a large number of fans have never seen success, other than the occasional playoff games which ended in disaster. Older fans remember League football and we ancient bodies remember the glory days of European football, as a result of our playing in the Welsh Cup.

Consequently, the younger fans will continue to support this great club because they've experienced no better and older ones will still attend out of habit and/or while hoping against hope for a return to league football one day.

How do you measure success? When we've been in L1 for ten years and are consistently finishing around tenth place will the fans of that era be craving success instead of mediocrity? Probably.

Rather complacent ? Aren’t you taking younger fans for granted ? Shockingly arrogant attitude.
