That dreaded '2 and a half years' figure seems to reoccur too readily.

It's easy to criticise and get things off your chest. Not quite so easy when you have responsibility and are accountable for your decisions. The Board currently and collectively have their 'balls in the vice', and some fans are intent on making them squeal, but without offering anything tangible.

But we fans should support; the Board should supervise; the management should manage; and the players should play.

RP is a great forum for melding those divides, but rarely affects the price of fish!

I have made the points a number of times and there has to be accountability and the the moment there isnt. There also needs to be direction and there isnt.
Everyone seems afraid to act with management until its too late and then they have to go.
And yes, the WST Board act as owners, and should supervise the Wxm AFC Board. Ultimately, they are responsible for the whole shebang!

Maybe the composition of these 2 Boards needs reviewing to see if the accountability issue can be improved.

Understand it's easy to criticise but perhaps you can explain the thinking and logic of giving GB a contract of 2 and half years to be Assistant Manager and then 10 days later another 2 and half years to be manager.

Spot on Hightown Red! Barrow should indeed have been awarded a contract as interim manager until the end of the season - maximum! Judging from his original comments, he would have been happy with these terms, given his original 2.5 years' assistant manager contract. Greater thought should have been given by 'The Board' to GB's appointment and to any new assistant manager! It seems SH & Co. succumbed to a rush of blood in order to get a monkey off their back, following the departure of Ricketts. They did not learn lessons from last season's departure of Keates.

As I have said on numerous occasions, no I cannot. The Board's decision making process baffled me!

I don't see why he'd accept a shorter contract. He should never have been given a 2.5 year deal in the first place without the new manager in place. Board of shot themselves in the foot doing that.

for the board to scour the country, only to find the perfect candidate already at the club, fookin amazing, we the fans are obviously thought of as Idiotic numpties by the board and we will support anything with a WAFC badge on it, how far can they take it until something is done as pagl says nobody is accountable for their actions

You say we the fans are thought of as numpties which is quite ironic as the club is being run on the field by numpties (the board) who happen to be fans.

Everyone is blaming the manager for the performances, yes he picks the team and yes some weird signings and selection, but once those players selected step out onto the pitch it's down to them, some players obviously lack balls when their backs are up against the wall and I wonder if their heart is in a fight because that's what we are in a fight to turn the form around, this is where the side lacks leaders, yes we have Pearson but he just blames the ref, the whole midfield is a shambles Wright a National North quality player, Walker his head is in Shrewsbury makes no odds to him if we win or lose no matter what he says, Summerfield his form has gone tits up since Ricketts went, Young the same, Grant has his contract until end of season when he knows he can leave, Rutherford his heart is in the club and some good early season form, but truthfully is not good enough for a promotion chasing side, maybe good enough for the bench.

What the answer is without adding quality and pace in midfield is I don't know, but changing the manager now will achieve nothing, since Newell arrived our form seems to have deserted us, it could be a coincidence who knows.

But as regards Barrow SH and those in agreement with him should stick to running the club but not the playing side of things to much bull in giving Barrow the job did they even check his cv as a manager 13 yrs ago?
