Would imagine that's what they will have to end up doing, don't Sale Sharks and Salford Reds play there though?

After going to Salford it seems like their new stadium doesn't seem all that permanent. More like temporary standing that's been dressed up a bit.

Clearly these ex prem players see some potential in this relatively new club.

Its a good project.

Hope that this happens to us one year. (We can but dream!!)

The Salford 1st team is all you see on the surface but behind the scenes they have built a youth system to the envy of many clubs higher up the pyramid taking coaches from Premier League systems, they have a full time youth scheme and U21 team that also doubles as a reserves as they can play 3 over age players. It’s impressive stuff and shows a real dedication to a long term strategy. They aren’t in it for short term gain otherwise they wouldn’t have invested time and effort into the player development pathways. Players who would in times gone by chosen Wrexham, Chester, Crewe youth routes are choosing Salford.

North West Under 21 Development League

Salford’s entire 1st team squad registered to their u21s so should they need game time they can play as one of 3 over age players. The cost of running a 21s isn’t huge - I coach in the West Division with a budget of about £5k - I think Salford’s might dwarf mine though! Previously Macclesfield and Southport ran 21s - a good pathway and one that a lot of pro clubs ignore.
