Dom Vose came here to get himself on the right track, yet Mills had that weird Clough attitude towards the game which didn't suit what Vose wanted to achieve. He could've been a success here under a different manager but it was never going to work with Gary Mills and since he's left us, his career's only gone one way.

He was one of those players that entertain and annoy in equal measure.
Who knows what would have happened if he had stayed for the remainder of the season?

It did seem that his performances dropped from before Christmas until he was shipped out, but whether that was due to his attitude or Mills' gameplan I don't know.

Hindsight will say we didn't lose out looking at his career since. But we will never know if we did or didn't.....

Regardless of all of that he was a key player for us and we got ride of him. Yes he didn't turn it on every week but he's a non league player for a reason.
I still can't understand it. His attitude couldn't have been worse than Mills', that's for sure.

Mills didn’t have an attitude, all this was rumour and denied at the time....

We were getting great performances from him that season as his goals and assist stats confirm.
We had been getting great performances out of him but for a few weeks prior to being sold he'd been poor and plenty in here were castigating him.

Same thing is happening now with Summerfield.

Plenty saw his ability, sadly no one seemed able to bring it forward with enough consistently, and now it's probably too late.

Shame for him, but that’s why he was at our level and likely had the ability to do more.
