We've signed countless players on loan over the past few seasons that don't play. If you're ok with that then apathy has set in.

I don't care if we sign players on loan but at least give them a chance especially if for example the team hasn't scored an away goal for months on end and the current front 3 don't look like scoring. We only won on Saturday because of Pyke and now he's gone.

To be fair, I think that this year's striking reinforcements - Oswell, Stockton and Tollitt are way better than last years effort of Ainge, Deverdics and Franks.

I just hope they actually play!

Most of the loan signings from the last few seasons have been used. We had Hinds and Burgess who didn't really figure but seems like there were issues with Hinds and Burgess was only cover anyway. The days of signing loads and loads of players who we never saw again was specifically something Gary Mills did.

It seems to me that, as Quay Red says, we don't do things any differently than any other club.

I only hope that the loanees we've got, start and have an impact. Management seem comfortable with midfield, god knows why, I wouldn't trust most of them to pass wind but I don't see them every day or whenever they train.
The alternative is to pay for players and get them on 2 year contracts which doesn't always pay off either.
Like it or not we have to "trust" the management team. They live or die by their decisions and are paid for it. Whether they are successful remains to be seen.
A win tomorrow will change the mood for at least a week.

I believe we can still bring in loan signings next week?. As we expected to keep Pyke and he left last minute bit much to expect Barrow to sign someone Yesterday but surely someone will come in next week?

We can also sign players who became free agents before or during the window.

The thread goes round in a circle. The moaning is about signing loan players and then not using them. Plus the excuses that players in Jan are unfit yet bring them in for 1 month and don't play them.

I understand and support the use of loan players but IMO they have to improve things otherwise they are pointless.

Ah well.

I don't see why, other clubs do it. Other clubs react to players leaving on deadline day by signing a replacement. The club probably knew for days he was off.
