![]() When Spencer said do you all remember the Newport and Salford game but conveniently then forgets to mention the next 5 shambolic displays I’d had enough of his bull shit .He then went on to say on the day of trying to sort out the managerial position he was far to busy to do it yet completely rebuffed the guys idea of a paid ceo because it wd cost money and we’re fine cos he does a gd job for free. Were stuck with this circus now and all this back slapping is here to stay

I suggest if we had 2 less players, we’d be in the shit and not 4 points from the top. Whilst a paid Chief Exec would pay for himself, in time, that could take a couple of years. Therefore, if you want to remove at least 100k from the playing budget, put the resolution to members to vote on. |

![]() Big Den's contract was running out and he hadn't spoken to the people at tnt. He was probably thinking that his time managing his country was coming to an end, and what better place than the club that gave him his big break in football. Big Den was then told he could not speak to us, he was told that his country wanted him to stay on and take them to the world cup. After all this he decided to stay put. You cant blame him really can you. He owes this club nothing and him not signing this time does not make him a snake!
What a stupid thing to say.

I am not as it happens completely against the idea but I think it could be a real tricky one. Our last sort of paid ceo went to Burnley if you recall. Nice chap invited a few of us up to talk through how they worked, how they did hospitality etc

![]() Barrow hasn’t covered himself in glory for sure. Perhaps there are personal things at play we are not privy to, so I don’t want to be too harsh.
To me it sounds like the club have dealt with this as well as they could from a difficult position. Have mistakes been made? Undoubtedly, with the benefit of hindsight, but we are being run by people, not robots. |

Tipped As Manager

The root of the problem was extending Barrow’s contract as assistant manager before Lawrence had agreed and signed his contract to become our new manager, after Ricketts had left. Barrow had already stated he had no desire to be the boss but would use his rich experience to mentor an inexperienced, younger manager. Personally, I think a Lawrence-Barrow management could have been a perfect fit. However, once T&T improved Lawrence’s deal he decided not to return to Wrexham. This was very inconvenient for the club, and raises doubts about Lawrence’s integrity but, fundamentally, we jumped the gun. Once Barrow was in place, for some ‘personal reasons’, he quickly told the Board he had made a mistake when taking the post. The question is: why did he take the post? Was it a late personal desire to prove he could do it ( an ego trip)? Or was it an act to rescue the Board from an unfortunate predicament (more id than ego)? I do not know why he did it, but suspect the latter. Spencer Harris’s unwise words at the time may have been in jest, but they merely highlighted the error. I fundamentally disagree with all the vicious bile aimed at Spencer over this and other issues. His error is that he cares too much about the club, and does too much instead of delegating when possible. Unfortunately, whilst your interpretation may be a genuine attempt to explain the issue, it can be interpreted as chaffing and flaring in an attempt to divert an incoming Slammer. IMHO, the Board made a mistake. It would be a bigger mistake to compound the error by trying to divert blame onto Lawrence and especially Barrow.
