Default My thoughts on our situation

Big Den's contract was running out and he hadn't spoken to the people at tnt. He was probably thinking that his time managing his country was coming to an end, and what better place than the club that gave him his big break in football. Big Den was then told he could not speak to us, he was told that his country wanted him to stay on and take them to the world cup. After all this he decided to stay put. You cant blame him really can you. He owes this club nothing and him not signing this time does not make him a snake!

What a stupid thing to say.

Barrow took the job on, once in the position things didn't go as planned, our form had dropped and the pressure from the fans was getting greater with every game. I think Barrow could have stayed on, doing the job and not enjoying it, meaning the team would have suffered and maybe would have missed out on the playoffs.

Barrow leaving this early is a credit to the man himself. He knew it wasn't working so he stepped down. He then helped the board find his replacement, who to be fair is one of our own. The one thing that leaves a sour taste in all our mouths is Newell. I don't know what it is but I can't stand the man, this goes all the way back to his Luton days. I was gutted when he joined the team and now we have had to pay him off after only 7 weeks at the club.

At the end of the day, Barrow tried his best, Newell coming in might have been his downfall, but in reality we probably will never know what went wrong there.

Regarding the hate shown towards the board, I also think it is uncalled for, Spencer is a nice guy, he works hard for this football club, and I agree he has made mistakes along the way, the WST board members should have been told and a meeting should have been held to decide which way this club was going to go, but to be fair, if that would have happened, the whole process would have been slower, Barrow would still be our manager for another couple of games and we probably would have had to go through weeks of games with Newell leading us, which if anything we have heard is true, then it would have ended in disaster.

Now we move on with Bryan Hughes as our manager, yes it's going to take time to get used to it, but he seems to have come in with a plan for the future, he has wrexham in his heart, he has a certain idea of how he wants us to play, and thats attavking football, and it will be nice to watch interviews with our manager where he is not looking at the floor.

It's also a chance for players like Holroyd, Tollit and Fondop to play themselves back into the team. A new start for all of the squad really. Hopefully the end to negative team selections, and a manager who shows more confidents in his players, by encouraging them to express themselves, and let them make things happen.

Let's see who he brings in as his number two, Im glad Darlington and Jussi are still here, so lets give Bryan and the team our full backing and hopefully see our season go back on track.

A very good piece HPH - lots of common sense and equally important, positivity for the future. BH wouldn't have been my first choice but I'm sitting on my arse in Mid Wales - it's easy to be an expert from here!

Isn’t that the whole point of a forum?

Plenty of good points - just cant join with the Newell hate-in as I have no chance to form an opinion. What he said while at Luton was for sure correct but the establishment did what happened last night - circled the wagons.

Plenty of common sense points but I can't agree with the assessment of Newell who had hardly got his feet in before he left! Can't judge a guy on his past indiscretions.

And also, I agree. Abuse directed solely at Spencer is not needed. However, the whole board (and by extension, the Trust board) are not coming out of this well. They should be open to criticism otherwise what's the point?

We, as fans, if we have concerns need to raise the issues through the proper channels to get those concerns answered.

Both boards need to go away, look at what they have done recently (whether under their best intentions or not) and work out what they can do to repair some of the trust between themselves and the fanbase.

If it needs a shift around, so be it.

Pretty much every thread posted is just someone’s thoughts, surely?

Good piece Harry well done. I don't know enough about Newell to have an opinion but the rest I agree with
