Ability on the ball is quite important for a footballer.

Muscle? Much of the game passes him by so that's irrelevant.

Thats what Brad Walker and Luke Young are there for.

If we can bring in an Akil Wright who can play then fair enough, but I think a Walker-Wright-Young midfield, would be better than a Walker-Carrington-Young, say, midfield.

This is ridiculous Wright. Is not the man to drive us forward in midfield and the original poster doesn't know football or is blind to the obvious not good enough lacks football knowledge and hopefully Brian who was brilliant by the way will sideline him and get Summerfield back who does at least go forward and not sideways or back.

I understand some of the criticism of Akil Wright. However in a team that finds it quite hard to score he does get into good positions to score. He could have won us the game at Aldershot but for a fantastic save. I only saw the chances on Saturday in the highlights. He made great contact with the first volley, the second came quickly on his weaker foot, and the third his standing leg slipped. He should have buried the last one. Akil is still young and he is one of only a few with the potential to go on and improve. He is an attacking player by instinct and At Barrow he played wide midfield. I have watched Wrexham warm up before games and the shooting practice has been pretty poor in the past. Unfortunately players do not get any chances to play reserve team games where they can Polish their finishing. Don't give up on Akil just yet.

Agree. Wish we would try him wide right in a 4-4-2.

Potential is there, anyone who can't see that is kidding themselves - needs polishing and time will tell if he kicks on.

What has he shown that makes you think he can skin a man and whip a good cross in?

Part of me says that if we never play Akil there we will never find out if he can beat a man. A few Barrow fans liked him there I think. It is a good point that he may not have the skills of a winger. I see him more as a strong runner on the counter attack and surely this would suit the current Wrexham who spend a lot of time defending. He got into 4 good positions against a poor team. He may still come good.
