Do you know this as a fact and if so, how?

I thought this version of events was confirmed at the meet the manager / close ranks meeting?

It’s from Spencers very questionable timeline at the meet the manager.

Looks like your source was wrong then.
Football club listed the timeline of events which mirrors what I posted.
Rickets requested the extension to Barrows contract to match his own as he was happy with the way things were working out.
Barrow agreed the contract and the club drew up the paperwork and exchanged the contracts. Club maintain that this was legally binding.
Few days later the Slops saga started. The club then looked for a manager that would work with the assistant and approached DL. Terms were apparently agreed but the deal was leaked and T & T kicked up a fuss and then improved DL s contract.

Maybe your mate knows something different?

Your wrong on this.

He was offered longer deal after SR had left....don't worry it's easy to forget as there has been slots to remember.

Whether he was a bad 'un whilst he was here I don't know.
Yes but if Barrow wanted him surely you have to back him.

Looking back at it, it will go down as one of those mental signings, up there with Tom Taylor. What was the link between him and Barrow?

No he wasn't. He accepted it and it was made public after rickets left. Was offered it beforehand at rickets request and was still legally binding.

To quote the timeline as laid out by Spencer at the meet the manager night

Rickets asked for an extension to Barrows contract

Club agrees and draws up contract and sends to Barrow

Rumours surface regarding Rickets and Shrewsbury

Club was contractually bound to honour the offer made to Barrow ( Same standing as a letter of appointment or formal offer of employment)

I cant see any way that Spencer would misinform a room full of club owners regarding this, if he did, it would be the end of him and would severely damage the WST as well.

Possibly, not sure, happy to accept your version of events though if you are certain
